Professor Ahmed Agyapong, Dean of Knust School of Business has highlighted the fast changing business environment and the need to ensure business students are not left behind.

He spoke on the theme:“Building Capacity and Resilience for Sustainable Development ” at the launch of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Knust School of Business.

“As the business environment is changing,we need to train students who have the mindset to think outside the box. Technology is driving it, there is a need to incorporate technology into our training. We are not lying back. We want to go with the pace of the time and introduce the necessary changes to make our students more employable,”Professor Agyapong stated.

The Knust School of Business (KSB) anniversary launch attracted distinguished industry leaders, academic figures, alumni and students who gathered to commemorate the remarkable achievements of the institution.

Professor Ahmed Agyapong said to bridge the employability gap and enhance competency-based training, Knust School of Business (KSB) was committed to strengthening practical education in entrepreneurship, information technology,technical and soft skills.

He also stated that the school was facilitating faculty exchange programmes with corporate partners and global institutions to further enrich knowledge transfer and practical exposure.

Mr Patrick Kwasi Appiah,CEO of Osons Chemist Limited,an alumni encouraged students of Knust School of Business (KSB) to be critical thinkers to thrive in the business world.

“We must be critical thinkers, thinking beyond the normal traditional way of doing business. It is no longer looking at the negatives, it’s making the best out of the negatives, looking at the situations of the time and creating the best solutions out of it”.

Our responsibility as educators and institutions is to equip students with the right skills, knowledge and values to lead in this new era of business,he added.

He cautioned that as society navigated an ever-evolving global economy,it was imperative that business education not only focused on probability and market competitiveness but also on creating value that was socially responsible,economically, viable and environmentally sustainable.
